Wells Fargo Reflect Review
Clicked for a $5,000 limit? Here is the honest answer.
Wells Fargo sets your limit after you are approved. The minimum is $1,000.
The Wells Fargo Reflect is built for people with established credit. Its big draw is 21 months at 0% intro APR, so you can pay down a balance without interest eating your payments.
Still rebuilding credit? A secured card is usually the better first step.

The short version
- Who it fits: people with established credit who have a balance to pay down or a big purchase to spread out.
- 0% intro APR for 21 months on purchases and qualifying balance transfers, for applicants who qualify.
- What it costs: $0 annual fee and a 5% balance transfer fee (minimum $5). After the intro period, a variable APR of 17.74% to 28.49% applies.
- Not for rebuilding. Approval depends on your credit and is not guaranteed.

In plain English
- Intro APR: a starting interest rate. Here it is 0% for 21 months, so you pay no interest on what you move or buy during that time.
- Balance transfer: moving what you owe on another card to this one, so you can pay it down without interest.
- Variable APR: the interest rate after the intro period. It can go up or down with the market.
- Credit qualification: Wells Fargo decides based on your credit. A card offer is not a guarantee of approval.
Who this card is for
This card fits you if most of these are true:
- You have established credit and were not recently declined.
- You carry a balance on another card at a high rate and want time to pay it down.
- You have a large purchase to spread out over months without interest.
- You can commit to a fixed monthly payment that clears the balance before month 22.
Wells Fargo does not publish a minimum score, and third-party reviews estimate that good credit is usually needed. Treat that as an estimate, not a rule. If you were recently declined, start with a secured card such as the Capital One Quicksilver Secured or the OpenSky Secured Visa.
What you need before you apply
- A list of what you owe. Write down the balance and APR of each card you may move.
- A monthly number. Divide the balance plus the transfer fee by 21. That is the least you need to pay each month.
- A clean 48-month check. Wells Fargo says you may not be eligible for the intro APR if you have this card, or opened it in the last 48 months, even if the account is closed with a $0 balance.
- A 4-month check. You may not qualify for another Wells Fargo consumer credit card if you opened one in the last 4 months.
- A look at your free credit reports. Federal law lets you get a free report from each bureau every 12 months at AnnualCreditReport.com. Fix errors before you apply.
Wells Fargo’s card page does not list the ID documents for the application, so read the application steps and have your personal and income details ready. If you only have an ITIN, ask Wells Fargo before you apply.

How the 21 months work
- Months 1 to 21: 0% intro APR on purchases and qualifying balance transfers.
- Month 22 onward: a variable APR of 17.74%, 24.24% or 28.49% applies to any balance that remains.
Two rules decide whether this works for you: request your balance transfer within 120 days of opening, and set a monthly amount that clears the balance before month 22. The intro rate does not remove your minimum payment, so pay at least the minimum on time every month.
Here is an example, for illustration only, not a quote. You move a $3,000 balance and pay the 5% fee ($150). Your balance becomes $3,150. Divide by 21 months and you need about $150 a month to reach zero before the intro period ends. Your own fee and payment may differ.
What it really costs
| Item | Cost |
|---|---|
| Annual fee | $0 |
| Balance transfer fee | 5%, minimum $5 |
| Interest after intro | 17.74%, 24.24% or 28.49% variable |
| Foreign transactions | 3% |
If you miss the payoff date, interest starts to cost real money. Say $1,000 is still unpaid after month 21 at a 24.24% APR: that is about $242 a year, or about $20 a month. The 0% period only helps if you use it to pay the balance down.
What else it includes
- Cell phone protection: up to $600 per claim against damage or theft, with a $25 deductible and a maximum of two paid claims per 12 months. You must pay your monthly phone bill with the card, and lost phones are not covered.
- Roadside Dispatch: tow service 24/7 with no membership. Service fees apply, and you pay the provider for mileage over five miles.
- My Wells Fargo Deals: cash back as an account credit on deals you activate, within 60 days of the qualifying purchase.
- Zero Liability: you are not responsible for unauthorized transactions that you report promptly.
- Credit Close-Up: monthly FICO score updates for eligible Wells Fargo online customers.
The Reflect does not advertise a flat rewards rate. If you want rewards on everyday spending, it is not the strongest fit.
How it can help your credit score
FICO says your score weighs payment history at 35% and amounts owed at 30%. Here is how that applies to a 0% card:
- Payment history: pay every bill by the due date. Turn on autopay for at least the minimum.
- Amounts owed: moving a balance does not erase it, but paying it down lowers how much of your credit you use. A common guideline is to stay under 30% of each limit.
- New credit: an application can add an inquiry. FICO counts inquiries for 12 months, and they stay on your report for two years. Avoid applying for several cards at once.
No card can promise a higher score. Your result depends on your starting point and your habits.
Your 21-month plan
- Day 1: apply and, if approved, activate the card. Set autopay for at least the minimum.
- Within 120 days: request your balance transfers. After that window, transfers do not get the intro rate.
- Month 1: set your fixed monthly payment (in our example, $150) and do not add new balances.
- Months 2 to 18: pay every month. Check your statement to confirm the balance is going down.
- Month 18: compare what is left with your plan. If you are behind, raise your payment now.
- Month 21: this is the last 0% month. Aim for a $0 balance.
- Month 22: the variable APR starts on any remaining balance.

Mistakes to avoid
- Waiting past 120 days to request your balance transfer.
- Paying only the minimum. It may not clear the balance by month 22.
- Adding new purchases on top of the transferred balance.
- Missing a payment. Read the terms for what a late payment can change.
- Applying with a recent Reflect account. You may not get the intro APR within 48 months.
Who should not choose this card
- You were recently declined and are rebuilding credit. A secured card fits better.
- You have no plan to clear the balance before month 22.
- You want steady rewards on everyday spending.
- You opened a Reflect within the last 48 months, or another Wells Fargo card within the last 4 months.
The verdict: is it worth it?
Yes, for someone with established credit who has a balance to pay down or a large purchase to spread out and will commit to a monthly amount. The 21-month window is the product. If you cannot use it, another card may serve you better.
Ready to choose your next step?
Option 1: Compare before you decide. Go back to the limit options and see whether another card fits you better.
Option 2: Go to the issuer. If this card fits, apply on the official Wells Fargo site.
